She is the spouse of Herbert Quandt, an industrialist. Johanna restored BMW from bankruptcy, joined as secretary in Herbert's company and then married him in 1960. Following Herbert's death she acquired the control of the company and had the major shares of group, she chaired the board of BMW until her retirement in 1997 and now owns 16.7% of stock. Her chidren Susanne and Stefan are now holding 12.5% and 16.4% shares respectively in BMW. The producer of famous brands like Rolls Royce, mini and BMW is said to increase their deliveries up to 6.4% to a record of 1,963,798 units in 2013 and have paid of 2.60EU for a share.
